An exciting approach to the City (2.0)

Just a short sharp post – but for those of you that are aware of TED (Technology, Entertainment, and Design) – and those that are not (now is the time to find out here)… their annual award the TED Prize has been awarded for the first time not to an individual, but an idea = The City 2.0.

As stated by TED:

“This year, we’re challenging everyone in the TED Community to embrace radical collaboration on one of the most pressing issues we face: how to build sustainable, vibrant, working cities.”

I picked the announcement up first on their blog

This whole concept of collaboration for the development of sustainable, vibrant, working cities is something that us here in Perth could benefit from (and more importantly contribute to).

I’ll try and keep up-to-date on the progress on the revelation of this concept on February 29th 2012 – i.e. a leap day on a leap year to make a big leap in the redefinition of the City.

Enjoy

Tom
